Predicting the Response of Concrete Columns to Eccentric Loading using Finite Element Analysis

چکیده
This study presents a numerical simulation of the behavior reinforced concrete columns under eccentric loading using finite element method. Three with different eccentricities were analyzed Abaqus software. The results compared laboratory experiments to validate accuracy simulations. analysis focused on damage and cracks, force-displacement curves, bearing ultimate capacity columns. showed that as eccentricity increased, decreased, bending became more pronounced. Todeschini’s behavioral model was found accurately predict when low but less accurate at high values. These findings have important implications for designing analysing loading.

Finite Element Analysis for CFST Columns under Blast Loading
The columns of frame structures are the key load-bearing components and the exterior columns are susceptible to attack in terrorist blasts. When subjected to blast loads, the columns would suffer a loss of bearing capacity to a certain extent due to the damage imparted which may lead to their collapse and even cause the progressive collapse of the whole structure . The concrete-filled steel col...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Investigations on the Behavior of Steel-reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Eccentric Loading
Steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, which are classified as composite columns, became the most widely used in recent years; because of their extensive advantages over the reinforced concrete and the steel columns. In this paper, the ductility index and its influential factors were explored to investigate the behavior of SRC columns. A straightforward approach was then proposed by establish...
متن کاملBehaviour of FRP strengthened concrete columns under eccentric compression loading
This paper presents results of testing eccentrically loaded columns externally wrapped with two types of materials. Six cylindrical (205 mm diameter and 925 mm height) plain columns were cast and tested. Half of the columns were wrapped with GFRP and the other half with CFRP. All columns were tested by applying an axial load at 50 mm eccentricity. In each group (GFRP or CFRP wrapped) of columns...
متن کاملNonlinear finite element analysis of Concrete Filled Steel Tube (CFST) columns under projectile impact loading
This paper presents a three dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis for Concrete Filled Steel Tube (CFST) columns subjected to lateral impact load. The finite element models were developed using commercial code ABAQUS/Explicit, which were validated against the experimental results. The study has been carried out to examine the influence of several parameters such as the length of the tube...
